Thebes must rise from the ashes of war, but can its newly elected leader Eurydice, lead her people to democracy, in the face of crushing pressure from its greedy and powerful neighbours and the juggernaut of patriarchy.
War torn Thebes is on its knees between two powerful and rich neighbouring states, Sparta and Athens. Newly elected Eurydice, can only resurrect her country with help from Athens, in the form of its charismatic and arrogant leader, Theseus. Eurydice navigates a dangerous game of power, sex, intrigue and divided loyalties. What price to pay for peace? In the hierarchy of truth, whose truth will be heard? A rollercoaster of a play, set in an imagined Eastern European state and inspired by Greek myth, that takes us through the personal and political aftermath of war.
