Welcome Week and COVID-19 Update

Welcome Week (2020-21):

Monday 5 October - Friday 9 October 2020

We intend to start your training on 5 October 2020 with on-site delivery. We will continue to monitor the progress and effects of the Coronavirus/COVID-19 and react accordingly to any developments that make this plan impossible to deliver.

Attendance during Welcome Week is compulsory for new students, including students progressing from Cert HE to undergraduate degree programmes, and undergraduate to postgraduate degrees. While we hope you will be able to join us on campus to begin your studies in October, we understand that, for some, travel, health or other COVID-19 related issues might mean that this is not possible. We have planned our teaching programme so that we can offer any student who is unable to travel to start the term on campus on 5 October the alternative option of beginning your course through remote engagement between 5 October and 9 November 2020. If you are joining us remotely during the period from 5 October - 9 November 2020, you will not miss any assessment points and your progression through the year will not be affected.

The pandemic presents new challenges to the training of actors, directors and behind-the-scenes creatives, and while there are a number of unpredictable factors that may demand responses and adjustments to usual practices, we are confident that we have a robust and detailed plan to deliver safe and effective training in the upcoming academic year.

If we need to adjust our plans in light of changing circumstances, we will contact you with updated information.

You can read more about what learning and assessment will look like during the pandemic and see what plans we have in place on our COVID-19 page
