Life. People shout, fight, eat and go to bed. When they wake up? They start shouting again.
Watch the disintegration of the petit-bourgeois Bessemnenov family in the Russia of 1902 , as they squabble, fight, dance, drink and philosophise, and fight again.
Gorky’s darkly comic story of a family falling apart, originally banned from public performance under the Czarist regime, is a witty and incisive reflection of the society it sits in, hinting at the vast political upheavals to come.
