Where Judas Lost His Boots... And Other Words
Written by Inês Santos Belmonte
Directed by Lillith Freeman
An entirely new sea of words, an ocean bed infinitely larger and deeper than the cursed English Channel.
Onde Judas perdeu as botas’ -a Portuguese expression for being in the middle of nowhere. This lively one-woman show melts together different languages, story, & memoir into a playful exploration of what it is to belong. Objects become puppets; Portugal becomes the South coast of England; sardines become truths; words become weapons; and home remains very far away. Writer & performer Inês Santos Belmonte reimagines her preteen immigration to the U.K., taking the audience with her through the intricate struggle and joy of learning a new language.
Crash And Po
Written by Yzzy Forsdyke
Directed by Felicia Kaspar
Tough skin tough mind.
Po is joining the Navy. Tomorrow. Leaving everything behind to embark on a life-changing adventure. She’s fighting the waves as they come and not running. From things. From Crash. From how their paths have been kicking each other since birth…
The Waiting
Written by Nina-Lou Bricard
Directed by Daisy Roe
Everything is just un putain de jeu.
Maeva is not waiting for anything. She is simply enjoying her own company. An unusual thing to be doing on your wedding day, but luckily for Maeva she never made it to the altar. She’s left a trail of destruction behind her all her life, so what’s one scorned groom?
Will she ever get her diet martini?
Mary Magdeloon in the Saloon
Written by Jean Syamali-Harris & Stanley McElligott
Directed by Stanley McElligott
Ye of little faith.
Mary Magdalene had it easy. She was besties with the main man. It’s not as easy down here in the test.
Ernie
Written by James Goodall
Directed by Felicia Kaspar
Not just a face in the crowd.
Liverpool. 1953. The Docks are at their peak, every port filled, every ship waiting, every man hoping to get a job. Ernie follows the single day of a Liverpool Docker as he searches for a break from this unforgiving labour. Music, mime and mask come together to showcase this bygone era of Merseyside.
