When the crowd becomes the enemy, where can the individual go?

A body enters. A crowd gathers. A voice begins to disappear. Somewhere between the individual and the collective, a journey unfolds. Bodies collide. Voices multiply. Identities dissolve. What begins as a search for the other shore becomes a passage through memory, violence, fear and the shifting landscapes of the mind. Who are you when the crowd speaks for you? Where do you go when there is nowhere left to escape? Gao Xingjian’s The Other Shore is an experimental journey into the fragile boundary between self and others—where reality fractures, the familiar becomes strange, and the search for freedom may lead somewhere beyond language.
