The House of Bernada Alba

MFA Acting (International)

Under suffocating tradition and enforced silence, a tyrannical mother’s rule drives five daughters toward desire, rebellion, and devastating tragedy behind closed doors.

In the height of a blistering and stifling summer, Bernarda Alba seals her house in mourning and obedience following her late husband’s funeral, forcing her five daughters into a virtual prison of silence and repression. As desire, jealousy, and rebellion simmer behind locked doors, rivalries are ignited that expose the cruelty of rigid honor, class, and tradition at a terrifying velocity with tragic consequences. Lorca’s final play is a haunting portrait of authority, confinement, and the terrible cost of denying freedom.
