Acting and Theatre Practice for 17+
In 2010,in response to demand, we launched a new Youth Theatre Workshops course especially designed to help progression toward a full-time education in
acting.
This new Towards Acting School Sunday course has been especially designed for those auditioning
for drama school or other performance projects as well as those just seeking to
make a more honest contact with audience and text.
Drawing on the training traditions of this internationally renowned drama
school, East 15’s Youth Theatre Workshops have already established
themselves, with pupils and parents alike, as delivering a sound grounding in
theatre practices and in the development of character and confidence.
This new programme for 17+ students has been developed to meet increasing demand
for a more advanced and challenging course. Drawing on input from highly experienced professional practitioners connected with East 15, the course includes movement and voice work, approaches to both classical
and contemporary texts and issues such as the psychology of an audition or
dealing with stage nerves.
The course is conducted in a way that will give a taste of both drama school training and the professional world and participants will be expected to approach the work in an appropriately professional manner.
The next nine week course begins on January 13th 2013
