Monique Wilson, Head of MA/MFA in Acting (International)
Monique Wilson is from the Philippines.
Monique Wilson is an international actor/director, and is Founder and Artistic Director of the New Voice Company, which tours the Philippines, Singapore, Hong Kong and Japan, Her one-woman show Classical Monique has been seen at the Hong Kong Theatre and Edinburgh Fringe Festivals.
Monique trained at LAMDA and holds an MA with distinctions in Applied Drama and Theatre Education from the Central School of Speech and Drama. She is one of the Founders of Kalayaan College in the Philippines and has taught at RADA, Central School of Speech and Drama and around Asia.
Monique has been directing for over fifteen years, and acting for nearly thirty. She has performed in the West End as the lead role of Kim in the original production of Miss Saigon and has gone on to have an award-winning theatre, film, television and recording career in the Philippines and Asia.. She has been a guest speaker at the 2nd International Women’s Playwrights Conference in Asia and at the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts.
Monique is set to publish two books, one on Art and Activism in Asia and the other, a compilation of her articles on theatre spanning twenty years
