Touring Festive Fun!

Scarily it appears we are only two and a half months away from Christmas and the prospect of fighting your way round the shops to bag the bargains will soon become a reality! However, on the positive side, this means East 15 students are doing their fabulous touring Christmas shows which can be booked by schools!

This year BA Acting students at East 15 are offering two shows aimed at younger school pupils: Anansi the Spider and Robin Hood.

Anansi the Spider has been adapted by the company, from the original stories, for the 5-8 year old range, and is directed by Asha Kalon and Roman Stefanski. In Africa, they say stories grow on trees and these stories have many branches and are told throughout the world. By booking this production you can hear the story of Anansi, the mischievous spider man and best trickster in the forest, as he weaves his web of misdemeanours that will delight, challenge and tease you and your pupils.

Robin Hood has been adapted by the company for the 9-13 year old range and is directed by Jack Milner. Tales of Robin Hood, his Merry Men and their fight against injustice and tyranny have been told for over 600 years. In this fun version you meet all the usual characters; Little John, Friar Tuck, Maid Marion, Allan a Dale, Will Scarlet, Much the Miller and the evil Sheriff of Nottingham. Staff fights, archery and arrows, fights, fisticuffs, ballads, music and dance add to the excitement in this lively entertainment.

In addition, East 15 students on the BA Contemporary Theatre programme are offering two interesting shows aimed at older school pupils. The Inconsiderate Aberrations of Billy the Kid, by Christopher Bailey and directed by Uri Roodner, is a fast-paced, absurdist satire of epic proportions and a taboo shattering juggernaut of a nightmarish joyride aimed at school pupils aged 15 and above! Food for Masses is aimed at 18 year-olds. A versatile ensemble performs this grotesque expression of a world view where dooms day meets hope and glitz!

One of the UK's more innovative acting schools, East 15 has been training actors, directors and producers for TV, film, radio and theatre for more than 40 years. These touring Christmas shows are a fantastic way to see work by East 15 students first hand, as well as a great way to start the festive season!
