Kids, carols and Christmas trees!

All are invited to a free concert of seasonal songs and readings by first-year students at East 15 Acting School on Thursday 6 December.

Colin Sell, Head of Music at East 15 and pianist on BBC Radio 4's I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue programme said: 'The concert will include songs and reading by first years and is a seasonal event, with the emphasis this year on celebrating children.'

This hour long event, which begins at 7.30pm at St John the Baptist Church, Church Lane, is also an opportunity for people to donate money to the charity, Crisis. Crisis aims to fight homelessness and empower people to fulfil their potential and transform their lives. During the festive period it opens centres from 23 December to 30 December, which gives homeless and vulnerably-housed people companionship at a time of year which can be particularly lonely for those without a home or family. East 15, one of the UK's most innovative acting schools, has been providing professional training for those wishing to work in theatre, film, TV, radio and other related fields for more than 40 years. It has a campus in Loughton, just 12 miles outside of London and, in September 2000, became part of the University of Essex. Since then a strategy has developed to expand East 15's provision to the University's new campus in Southend-on-Sea.

Alumni of East 15 include actresses Alison Steadman and Annette Badland, Coronation Street star Jenny Platt, playwright April de Angelis, former artistic director of The Bush Theatre Mike Bradwell and director Stephen Daldry, who was nominated for an Oscar and a Golden Globe for his feature films The Hours and Billy Elliott.
