Bryony Afferson Takes Lead in Channel 4's Totally Frank

East 15's 2004 BA Acting graduate, Bryony Afferson, is to make her debut television appearance in the new Channel 4 drama series Totally Frank.

Playing the role of guitarist Charlie, Bryony is one of the four main leads in a 26-part drama which chronicles the fictional lives of four headstrong girls as they go through the enormous process of forming a band. The series follows the girls as they set about the daunting task of launching their musical careers and chasing the ultimate dream of creating their own unique sound together.

Gary Bushell, in The People, said: 'Imagine a girlie version of The Monkees but with a more aggressive marketing strategy. The fictional Frank have already got a real-life record deal and episodes to download on mobiles. This comic book drama is as lightweight as an iPod nano.it's full of bubbly energy.'

Described by one critic as 'UK Sex And The City with guitars', Totally Frank airs on Channel 4's T4 on Sundays from September, as well as on E4. It will air in two blocks of 13 episodes, in September 2005 and spring 2006.
