Applying to East 15 as a Postgraduate

Student performance, photo by Nigel LuckhurstAll East 15's postgraduate applicants must demonstrate their suitability for entry and postgraduate applicants are assessed on their experience (both academic and practical) and potential for success). Whilst there is no minimum age limit, it would be highly unlikely that someone under the age of 21 will have gained the requisite academic qualifications required for entry. There is no upper age limit for applications, although applicants who do not hold academic qualifications equivalent to the entry requirements will need to provide evidence of their suitability to undertake postgraduate study (for example, completion of an Access course, Open University qualification or relevant work-based experience).

All applicants for East 15's postgraduate courses (apart from Filmmaking and Theatre Directing) will expected to undertake an audition that has an element of physical activity (dance and movement) as part of their assessment.

Postgraduate courses offered by East 15 (all at Loughton Campus)
MA in Acting
MA/MFA in Acting (International)

MA/MFA in Theatre Directing

Student performanceYour postgraduate application
All students must complete an East 15 application form. This can be obtained by writing directly to East 15 or can be downloaded from this website. Only upon receipt of the completed application form and a non-refundable £45 audition fee for all acting programmes (or a DVD audition tape or on-line interview for international students) will an applicant be notified of their audition date. Theatre Directing applicants must include a CV and/or additional media with their application forms.

Postgraduate entry requirements
MA in Acting and MA/MFA in Acting (International) require successful audition or on-line audition, plus a first degree of upper second class standard or equivalent (GPA 3.0) or suitable previous life and/or professional experience.

MA/MFA in Theatre Directing and MA in Filmmaking require a successful written application, plus a first degree of upper second class standard or equivalent (GPA 3.0) or suitable previous life and/or professional experience. A portfolio of work may, optionally, be submitted with the written application. Candidates may also be invited for interview but most applications will be decided on the basis of the written application.
